It’s not easy being right all the time!
Go back and read the Facebook posts.
Go back and listen to the radio shows.
Yours truly has been saying since DAY ONE that Byron Leftwhich was a mistake waiting to happen. That Charlie Batch should be left of the bench and Dixon started. My logic was that Dixon best has the skills to escape if things got dicey AND you want the experienced guy coming off the bench cold instead of doing it the other way around.
So Batch made me look like a genius again! LOL!
The Steelers are 3-0 with a home game coming up against Flaccoverde. 4-0 is not out of the question!
One, small complaint. (And I know the talking heads on radio and television say we as fans are not allowed to complain after a win, but please amuse me for a second.) Why in the name of all that is good and green, with a third and two inside the 20 with a huge lead did Bruce Arians go with an empty backfield pass?!?! It’s those kinds of boneheaded calls that frustrate the heck out of the fans! He calls a well executed game and then gets this giant brain fart just to try and play and see if it works!
Anyway…the team is really gelling right now. Ben comes back in one week and has two weeks to prep for the game at home against Cleveland . Barring injury this team is on a mission that it will not be denied from finishing!
Elsewhere around the NFL:
The Bengals like to refer to T.O. and Ochocinco as “Batman and Robin”…but they are looking more like Abbott and Costello. Through three games they have a combined 389 yards receiving and ONE touchdown. Of course it doesn’t help that the starting QB has a 71.3 QB rating. The fans in Cincinnati should be on their knees every night praying Defense Coach Zimmer doesn’t bolt for a head coaching job at the end of the season. He’s the only thing keeping that team together right now.
The Raven beat the Browns. No surprise there as the game was in Baltimore too, but the final spread of seven points was way too small. Cleveland has been playing better this year, but if the Ravens can’t beat up on them at home what chance will they have coming in to Pittsburgh next week? Its same old, same old. Defense is playing well but the offense is just offensive.
The Vikings finally remembered they have a great running back and had the good fortune of playing the Lions at the same time! Detroit is the hard luck team of the league. Just when they start showing signs of improvement they have their starting QB go down. Hang in there Lions fans! There’s always next year!
The Buffalo Bills are not a good football team, yet they put up 30 points on the Patriots…AT Foxboro! My dislike of Brady and Belichick are well know, but if the “genius” coach doesn’t find a defense soon it will be another one and done if they make the playoffs.
The Ram beat the Redskins. Read that a second time just to let it sink in. Maybe Andy Reid was right when he let McNabb go.
The Eagles beat up with Jacksonville with Mike Vick continuing to play out of his head. I’m in the camp of he never should have been allowed to play in the NFL again, but he certainly has the skill set to do well…until the playoffs. And just to reinforce my point above about Leftwhich (and because I love taking jabs at him) how bad did he have to be that the Jaguars cut him for Gerard?
The Phillip Rivers Meltdown watch started last night with a close-but-no-cigar loss to the Seahawks. Carroll must have found some boosters to help the players out in Seattle the way they are playing for him!
The Raiders and Cardinals played in the “Who cares” bowl and the Cards held on when the first round pick kicker for the Raiders shanked one on the last play of the game.
The Chiefs are 3-0! In what could be the worst division in the AFC (the NFC west is in a neck and neck race with them) they have found a way to win and since they have a bye this week they are guaranteed of being of the last undefeated teams in the NFL after four weeks!
Vince Young got off the psychiatrist couch bench and led the Titans over the Giants. I sincerely have no idea what is wrong with the Giants unless it’s the poor QB play, porous defense, and bad coaching.
The Jets, one of the top defenses in the league, allowed the Dolphins to throw for 363 yards and score 23 points…but won anyway.
The Colts beat Denver and in other news the sky is blue and rain is wet.
